Udaipur : With her eyes half closed, another two days old baby enters the world as she opens her eyes on a cot lying in the corner of Mahesh Ashram of Rabindranath Tagore Medical Zenana hospital, where she was left abandoned by her biological parents. With this new entrant now the total number of abandoned babies inside the ashram run by Maa Bhagwati vikas sansthan become 15.
Soon as this child found her new home on March 21 around 4PM, a team of Doctors took her for a full body check up where she was found healthy and physically fit. According to Devendra Agarwal, ‘Ashram will now take proper care of this baby until someone adopts her. Abandoned babies are fortunate as they are safe and being taken care of at Mahesh Ashram whereas many such babies are found dead after being dumped in a garbage container or are left out for stray animals.
In past nine years since the inception of this centre near about 138 such cases of abandoned babies have been found here. Till now 113 babies found their permanent homes after they `got adopted. However 11 babies who were unhealthy died, whereas ashram still has 14 babies left who did not found their permanent home yet.
