Rajasthan Schools lack trained teachers for Special Children

In India education still remains a dream for most of the physically challenged. The government schemes seem to have completely failed to educate the speech challenged children. The figures suggest that near about 7 lakh speech challenged and 1.5 lakh blind children in Rajasthan are still in wait of a proper professional teacher. The fact came in light after the use of RTI Act. The required information was issued after an RTI was filed by a physically challenged student Deepak, a resident of Madhubahan Colony near Tonk Road. He studies at Poddar Deaf and Dumb school.According to the information shared by Directorate of Middle Education, Bikaner there is no specialised teacher in Rajasthan under the scheme SIEDSS which is meant for the speech impaired students. The teachers who are already appointed in the schools teach the challenged students as the school lack the specialised staffs due to which the students get an incomplete education. In the state of Rajasthan for Blind children, there are proper schools in Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur. It s very shockingly but in 29 districts of Rajasthan including the state capital Jaipur there are no proper schools for speech impaired children. According to Kamlesh Sharma, an interpreter for physically challenged students said, Dueto the lack of professional teachers for physically challenged students most of them fail to learn sign language which is a must learning tool for blind and speech impaired students.
