Jaipur: Stating budget sessions of former Congress Govt directionless the current Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje on Tuesday presented a Rs 99,693-crore annual budget for Rajasthan in a three hour speech in Assembly. The budget had all for social welfare projects, education, health power etc. However on the Education front the Budget is entirely focusing on enhancing, improvising and building capacity of existing infrastructure, schemes and programmes. The Budgetary allocation for education sector -school, higher and technical -has been increased from Rs 21,788 crore in 2015-16 to Rs 23,177 crore in 2016-17. Rajasthan Patrika Media Action Group’s Neenv campaign has been focusing to improve the status of education in Govt schools of Rajasthan, by highlighting issues faced by students and schools.
61 Vivekananda Model Bhawan:
Budget announced construction of 61 new Swami Vivekananda Model Schools in backward blocks. The Budget also offers adding of 1,667 new classrooms in middle and upper middle schools. Apart from this also `virtual classrooms’ in 770 middle and upper middle schools to enhance the creativity of students will be also constructed.
New Library and Laboratory to be Constructed:
In 4445 schools near about 1,667 new classrooms, library and laboratories to be constructed. Now Rajasthan University and RTU kota to have entrepreneurship or small business management centre. Also in next three years 58 crores will be spent to start 29 new ITI on PPP mode.
