Udaipur: Passe are the days when baby girls abandoned by her biological parents had to wait for years at until someone would come and adopt her. Those associated or running such homes meant to take care of abandoned babies revealed this. Such is an example of Maa Bhagwati Sansthan, baby care centre based out in Udaipur which started its journey 12 years ago with a slogan ‘Phenko mat Hamay do”.
According to the Care taker and founder of this Baby Care Centre, Devendra Agarwal, “Earlier families would come forward to adopt the abandoned babies and would choose boy over girls but nowadays both are preferred equally. Similarly in the Jaipur Baal Shishu Garh , Baby Care centre records an increase in the number of adaption of abandoned girl babies over the years.
Most of the babies who are housing in the care centres have been recovered either from the bushes or some from the garbage bins. But nowadays many leave their unwanted baby at he door step knowing that people out there will take care of them. These centres not only rescue the lives of new born babies discarded by their parents but also make an effort that safe hands adopt them.
