Jaipur: Concerned over the dip in enrollments in Govt Schools of Rajasthan, Education Department has launched a new scheme under which each teacher will be given a target to enroll about 20 students per school. The initiative has been taken keeping in mind the poor status of admissions and increase in the number of those children who are still deprived of school education.
Since the new academic session is all set to begin hence the enrollment drive in schools will begin from April 26. In order to follow the orders circulated by education department, teachers will have to knock at the doors and convince the parents to fulfill the given target by getting children enrolled after seeking due consent from their parents. Regular classes for the new session will begin June onwards.
Department has also miserably failed to continue their child tracking survey over the years . According to an officer associated with the survey procedure, “The last data available with the department is from the year 2012 after that no such surveys were conducted. In order to keep a check on he enrollments happening every year Education Department is reviving its child tracking survey and intend to update it by April 15.” The department has also ensured that the fresh enrolled students will be given new set of books prescribed by the school.
