Bhopal: We aim to make our country heaven for Disable persons by easy accessibility under the flagship program Accessible India. But at the same time even the biggest cities of India are not liveable. Despite of cities getting a solid make over with new buildings, stair cases, gardens , malls etc very less is been thought for Differently-Abled People.

Despite making policies of Disabled Community most of the times Govt itself fails to abide by these. A posh locality of Bhopal Cityhas an eye opening example that explains everything. Two Offices where power bill is deposited were audited by the Ahsaas Team. It was found that Govt office lacked facility for the disabled people whereas Private office had easy accessibility for PWDs.

Bhopal is undergoing a development transition in the field of infrastructure but at the same time most of the newly constructed buildings are declared unfit for the movement of Specially-Abled People. A newly constructed ATM opposite TT Nagar Police station has steep stairs with no ramp and hand rail. People complain that authorities must keep the problems of other sections in mind before constructing such architectural disasters.
