Jaipur: The safety of 225 Govt students is now on a crossroad as the lawns of 88 year old school Maharaja Adarsh Ucchh Prathmik Vidhyalaya, situated behind Hawa Mahal has been encroached by the public and transport. This inclusive school ground has now become a walkway where passerby and vehicles enter as the Main road is under construction due to the ongoing Metro Construction work taking place at Badi Chaupar.
Surprisingly Principal of the school was not informed either by the Education Department or by the Jaipur Metro Office before making school playground a common road for passerby and two wheelers. According to Tara Shankar, Headmaster, School is thinking to register a complaint and file a court case.
Due to this temporary arrangement, the playground has been divided into two parts. One part of the ground has school building constructed over it while as the other part has library, science laboratory, and canteen for Mid Day meals. Students have to cross this unsafe trek many times a day for their meals and laboratory.
This school was founded in 1928 by the help of Royal families of Jaipur and later after Independence Day the Sate Govt took it over. At present both students and School administration are complaining that due to this insensitive move of Jaipur Metro officials the school campus has now become usafe and is affecting the inmates.
