Jaipur: For the welfare of Women and Girls, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced two new schemes for the girl child — Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana and Mukhyamantri Saksham Balika Yojana during the budget speech 2016-17.
The Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana will be responsible for education of all girls born after June 1, by way of grants or scholarships, while as in Mukhyamantri Saksham Balika Yojana training to 1.5 lakh schoolgirls in self-defence will be imparted.
Raje also waived off registration fee, one-time road tax and green tax to the scooties distributed free to the meritorious girl students. For those Govt School Girl Students whose school is 5kms away from there house a bus coupon will be issued free of cost. Also one-time grant for remarriage of a widow has been revised from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000 in the Budget.
