Jaipur: The rise in the number of rape incidents in Rajasthan is worrisome and at the same time it has exposed the darker side of the state which was considered ‘relatively safe’ compared to other neighbouring states. Going by the official data as many as 827 cases of sexual assault against minor have been recorded in the year 2014.
Women have crossed skies and been at the top but still lot is to be done in order to make our society sensitize towards them. In order to reduce crime against girls, parents hold a responsibility of teaching ethics to their children.
LAADO – ‘Na haari, Na haarungi’
Rajasthan Patrika launched LAADO Campaign two months ago which aims to highlight issues related to girls such as safety, education and health. Selecting the places with worst sex ratio, in the first phase it was launched in four districts namely Jaipur, Jhunjhunu , Sikar and Dholpur. Now in an attempt to give wings to this ongoing initiative, now stories will also focus on those girls who have done wonders and come up with something substantial during their childhood days. Some stories will have the sacrifice element while others will focus on their willingness to achieve heights by battling against odds.
